To affect health care in the region...

Nueva Salud is developing, testing, and implementing a working model that can be replicated in other communities where similar conditions exist.

News of the project in San Antonio is spreading, and neighboring villages are receptive to similar innovations. Thus the groundwork has been laid for extending Nueva Salud’s efforts. The first targets are selected villages in Guatemala, Honduras, and other Central America countries.

Clearly, it is vital in each case to tailor the project’s priorities to match the local requirements — village by village. Furthermore, it is essential to collaborate with the countries’ governments and other agencies in order to bring maximum advantages to the indigenous people.

To implement our plan we rely on the following:

Building a solid organization with broad capacities, expertise, and resources

Cultivating a relationship with the ministry of Health plus all relevant government agencies and NGO’s working in each area

Securing funding and enlisting the partnership of grant-making agencies.
