Long-Range Plan

To affect health care in the region...

News of the pilot project in San Antonio will spread rapidly to the neighboring villages.
We will then have an opportunity to establish similar programs throughout the region.

The first target will be the scattering of Maya villages in the mountains of northwestern Guatemala. Ultimately, the long-range plan is to replicate the model in remote, underserved villages throughout Central and South America.

Clearly, it will be vital to tailor the project's priorities to match the local requirements—village by village. It will be necessary in each case to find an entrée into the community, to cultivate a cordial relationship, and to meet with leaders to set goals, make plans, and ensure the villagers' enthusiastic participation.

The pursuit if this mission requires the building of a solid organization with broad
capacities, expertise, and resources. Indeed, appropriate Directors and Advisors
     are being recruited.

It will be essential to cultivate a relationship with the Ministry of Health plus all
relevant government agencies and NGO's working in each area.

And naturally, we must secure funding. We are working to enlist the partnership of
grant-making agencies. And certainly we welcome supporters.

Finally, as the programs expands, we must ensure its proper management. We must
develop tools to evaluate our impact and constantly measure results.

    The groundwork is being laid!
